I am a 70-year-old man that has worn glasses since the age of forty. I had my cataracts removed and Synergy lenses put in both eyes, one week apart at Griffin Eye Center. After the first eye surgery was finished, I had 20/20 vision in that eye.
I was so ready to get the second eye done. I have not had this type of vision since I was forty and had to wear corrective glasses for reading. Over time my vision changed and several pairs of glasses later I had progressive glasses.
Dr. Neil Griffin explained that I might not get my perfect vision back through all ranges but after the good cataract procedure results from my first eye it was encouraging. He also made me aware there was a possibility of a halo effect at night after surgery.
After my second eye cataract surgery, my vision with both eyes was a solid 20/20. It was so great to see so clearly with no glasses at all. From ten inches to one hundred yards, I can see as I did when I was young.
I do have some halo effect at night but easily can live with it to get back my broad range of sharp vision and not need to wear any glasses. I am writing this three weeks after the second eye surgery was done. I have played golf, driven to three states, and am extremely satisfied with the lenses. The doctors and staff at Griffin Eye Center were fantastic from day one.
They have a great system that walks you through each step of the cataract surgery process so that the best procedures are followed to a tee. They provide step by step instructions, reporting forms to aid the patients in keeping up with their eye-drop regimen for the best results.
