New Lens for Cataract in Myrtle Beach Area

Griffin hosted an educational program on the FDA approved PanOptix® Trifocal Lens to local Optometrists from both South and North Carolina at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Dr. Griffin elaborated on the PanOptix® lens use of ENLIGHTEN Optical Technology which optimizes an individual’s intermediate vision in various lighting conditions without compromising his or her near and distance vision. Cataract affects over 24.4 million Americans age 40 and older, or about one in every six people in this age range. Cataracts are the most common age-related eye condition and the leading cause of preventable blindness.

He also discussed how the PanOptix® lens provides a strong near focus and an intermediate focus without detracting from the near vision. This means quality of vision at all distances such as driving, computer and using your cell phone at near.  Statistics have shown that through recent studies, 99% of patients would choose the lens again, and 98% of patients would recommend it to family and friends.
